As usual, Britt and I went to LRC this past Sunday. The unusual thing is what we found once we got there. No sooner could we put our pads on the ground did an old friend walk around the way and begin to tell us about someone who had just fallen on their down climb after sending a nearby problem. She had fallen between two rocks, bouncing off each and landing, back first, onto the jagged talus below. She walked over to her pad, laid down and didn't move again until the EMT's got there.

It's a scary thing, watching someone's physical condition go from bad to worse and not be able to really do anything about it.

The EMT's finally arrived and made their way out into the woods where they secured the injured girl onto a stretcher and carried her away.

Once the EMT's took the girl to a local hospital, it was back to climbing. Britt destoyed her ticklist that she's been working on for the Triple Crown. She's looking as strong as she ever has and i'm sorry to report that i got any pics of her pulling down because i was spotting her delicate frame. She was able to grab a few shots of me on an old rival, White Face. Beautiful, thin face with mail-box slot crimpers and pebble feet. Got to last move and fell 1 in. away from the top. Haven't sent this rig in over 2 years. Time to put her back in her place.

peace

Last move...reached up, tried to grab, foot cut. That's all she wrote...til' next time.

Damn Yankee

Last night, Brittani and I went to Suck Creek so i could try "Damn Yankee" before the rains fell. Unfortunately, we weren't in the weather's good graces.

The weather just would not stay on our side. By 5:30, the clouds were rolling in and it was all but pitch black. Brittani got out the lantern and the headlamps, but they weren't a lot of help.

I got about 4 tries before the holds were too wet to stay on the rock.

On my last attempt, my fingers ripped off the wall and hitting the crashpad, i slipped on the wet fabric and came very close to needing medical attention. I was fortunate in that respect. No send...yet.

Oh well, another day, another time. I'm not stressing it. i've noticed that my brain is my biggest weakness when i climb. i've got to find a way to look past that and learn to just flow with it. Soon...

First Blog

So, i have decided to start a blog. Nothing special, just a blog.

iF you like it, read it, if you can't read, look at the pretty pictures. If you don't like pretty pictures, go somewhere else.

This blog is basically going to record my gf Brittani and myself and our bouldering journeys around the country. There will be pictures, short writings and maybe something inspirational somewhere along the way. You'll get to see my gf, my friends and myself climbing/crushing bouldering here and around this beautiful country of ours.

I think the first blog i will be posting will be our recent trip to Joe's Valley in Utah and the wonderful people we met there. Hope you enjoy!
