As usual, Britt and I went to LRC this past Sunday. The unusual thing is what we found once we got there. No sooner could we put our pads on the ground did an old friend walk around the way and begin to tell us about someone who had just fallen on their down climb after sending a nearby problem. She had fallen between two rocks, bouncing off each and landing, back first, onto the jagged talus below. She walked over to her pad, laid down and didn't move again until the EMT's got there.

It's a scary thing, watching someone's physical condition go from bad to worse and not be able to really do anything about it.

The EMT's finally arrived and made their way out into the woods where they secured the injured girl onto a stretcher and carried her away.

Once the EMT's took the girl to a local hospital, it was back to climbing. Britt destoyed her ticklist that she's been working on for the Triple Crown. She's looking as strong as she ever has and i'm sorry to report that i got any pics of her pulling down because i was spotting her delicate frame. She was able to grab a few shots of me on an old rival, White Face. Beautiful, thin face with mail-box slot crimpers and pebble feet. Got to last move and fell 1 in. away from the top. Haven't sent this rig in over 2 years. Time to put her back in her place.

peace

Last move...reached up, tried to grab, foot cut. That's all she wrote...til' next time.

35 years ago? I had heard about people climbing there in the early 90's, but not in the 70's. That's awesome! Looks like you traded in the climbing for the motorcycles! Sounds great!

Climbing, motorcycles and actually white water paddling all help satisfy the extreme needs of a Adrenaline junkie...These things I know to be true.
